UtopYA Con Prep: Wrapping Up My TBR

Like any good bookworm, my list of books to read is extensive. If I’m reading a book on angels, for instance, I’ll want to read tons of books about angels to see how other authors handled the subject. Or, I might be super fangirl and want to read everything one particular author has written.

The following authors round out my list of “Must Read Soon” books. Remember my list continues to grow. I have a relationship with books like the jokes about ADDers with squirrels. Imagine having a conversation and a picture comes on the computer screen about a new book. That’s me.

Cameo Renae

A writer of Paranormal mysteries and thrillers.

There are a few books I want to read by Cameo Renae. Her sci-fi thrillers, ARV-3 and Sanctum. I also want to read her paranormal series, Hidden Wings.

Ciara Knight

A writer of Fantasy, Paranormal and Dystopian.

I really want to read The Neumarian Chronicles. Here’s the Goodreads.com Description for Book One: “Ten years after the great war of 2185 the queen’s reign is threatened by uprisings and fear. In celebration of my sixteenth birthday it is my duty as princess to sacrifice a slave to be initiated into the ruling council, solidifying my mother’s empire. When my own erratic powers surface I’m captured and tried for treason. Slaves hate me, my mother wants me executed, and my only chance of survival rests in the hands of a young man, Ryder Arteres, whose sister I sentenced to death.” If I could only read more than 3 or 4 books at a time….

Krystal Wade

A writer of Science Fiction and Fantasy

Who doesn’t love a good thriller? This one needs to be read. Goodreads.com Description: “Sixteen-year-old Haley Tremaine had it all: top-notch school, fantastic family, and a bright future, but all of that changed when an accident tore her family apart. Now, an alcoholic father, a bitter younger sister, and a cold headstone bearing her mother’s name are all she has left. Chris Charming has it all: a powerful CEO for a father, a prestigious school, and a fortune at his fingertips, but none of that matters when he lands a reputation as a troublemaker. Struggling to follow in his father’s footsteps, he reaches out to the one person he believes truly sees him, the one person he wants: Haley. Little do they know someone’s determined to bring the two together, even if it means murder.”

Jill Cooper

A writer of science fiction, fantasy and horror.

Jill Cooper has quite a few books I’m dying to read. Her Dream Slayer series and her Rewind Agency are worth picking up. She has a few standalone novels that peak my interest as well.

Tricia Zoeller

A writer of Urban Fantasy (yes!), Science Fiction and Mystery.

“A family tragedy at the age of twelve thrusts Serena into the world of shadowcasting. She relishes the dragon lords’ protection and training but loves her new job and human charge even more. Because of her great-great-grandfather’s alliance with a vicious nymph queen, Serena finds other Montenaians refuse to trust or accept her. It doesn’t help that she has the same birthmark and orange spark in her eyes as the relative who brought shame to the Brisson name. Stepping through the portal to Paris allows Serena to escape her family’s reputation as well as her mother’s harsh traditions. Every day Serena pushes to be “worthy of the dragon,” regardless of her brother warning her the path leads to horrible loss. For years, the lore of dragon and astrei has molded the practices and beliefs of Montenaians. No one has felt this more than the phantom, Serena. This Drifter’s history is the key to Shadowland’s fate. Can she protect them from a dangerous future and still find her way home?”

Kristie Cook

A writer of Science Fiction and Fantasy.

The cover alone made me want to read the Soul Savers series. The Goodreads.com Description did it for me. “He’ll torment her soul until she breaks…and humanity until it falls.

When the Daemoni expose their existence to the human race, all Hell breaks loose. Literally. Not only do they walk the world freely, attacking at will, but they’ve infiltrated the highest levels of power in the human world. World War III erupts between countries and species, with Lucas, leader of evil on Earth, orchestrating it all. He even possesses direct control of thousands of human soldiers’ minds, putting himself in position to take over humanity.

Alexis, still young and inexperienced, must lead the Angels’ army to war. But every step she takes is trumped by Lucas, who single-handedly turns the humans against her Amadis. When Alexis and Tristan top every country’s list of Most Wanted Terrorists, they are forced to go underground to fight this war. And their first mission is to free the human soldiers by breaking the link that allows Lucas to control them.

But the Four Horsemen have apparently arrived, bringing the world into the apocalypse. Can Alexis and the Amadis prevent Lucas from taking over humanity? Or is he truly the Antichrist, and the events tormenting the world part of an age-old prophecy that can’t be stopped?

This highly anticipated sixth book of the Soul Savers Series will leave readers in shock, begging for the final installment, Faith.”

Next up…my favorite genres! What type of book will you always read no matter what?
